United States Army Center for Martial Music
The mission of the United States Army Center for Martial Music is to function as the premier permanent historical and educational institution specializing in American martial music. The USACMM serves worldwide as a central focal point for American field music through collection, preservation, research, education, and publication.
USACMM holdings encompass ancient military music performance, Baroque performance practices, and ancient American percussive arts.
The USACMM’s holdings are divided into four areas:
The United States Army Center for Martial Music Library
Materials related to martial music, including standard reference materials, historical music and instruction manuals, recordings and video.
The United States Army Center for Martial Music Research Collection
Subject-based collection of research materials on the development and current disposition of martial music, with emphasis on fife, bugle, Baroque brass, Baroque flute, and rudimental percussion history and performance.
The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps Historical Collection
Photographs, publications, recordings, personnel rosters, and other documents and items related to the history of the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps.
The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps Production Archive
All music and drill currently being performed by The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps and an archive of music and drill performed since 1960.
The USACMM provides military and civilian patrons with professional direction and assistance identifying and accessing the Center’s resources and services.
