SFC John Parks
U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps

Sergeant First Class John Parks joined the Fife and Drum Corps in 2010. He was born and raised in Williamsburg, VA. At age 10, he joined the Colonial Williamsburg Fife and Drum Corps, eventually serving as drum major and music instructor. He was accepted into James Madison University where he went on to get his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2009 and his Master of Arts in Teaching in 2010.

Currently, SFC Parks serves as the Senior Drum Major and is one of the unit's Master Fitness Trainers. Some of his most memorable performances include marching through the Magic Kingdom at Disney World, performing at the Basel Tattoo in Basel, Switzerland, playing for President Barack Obama and Tom Hanks at the Kennedy Center Honors, and marching in front of the Pope on the during and arrival ceremony on White House Lawn.
