SSG Andrew Owen
U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps

Staff Sergeant Andrew Owen grew up in Williamsburg, VA where he began playing the fife at age 10 in the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums. He was a part of that corps from 5th-12th grade, progressing through the Junior and Senior Corps in a military-style ranking system to Qualified Sergeant Major and Fife Section Leader of the Senior Corps. Staff Sergeant Owen went on to James Madison University, where he received his Bachelor of Science. SSG Owen won an audition and joined the Corps in 2012.

In addition to playing fife, Staff Sergeant Owen has been a Fife Section Leader and part of the Information Technology team. Some of his favorite memories in the corps so far have been performing on the international stage in the Basel Tattoo in Switzerland and parading through Basel with the Great Coats, honoring wounded warriors as the corps performed for the Invictus Games, celebrating the U.S. Army birthday in Times Square, and marching through Disney World. He also enjoys returning to Williamsburg to perform in front of friends and family both with the U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps and with the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums Alumni.
