SSG Francis Franqui
U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps

Staff Sergeant Francis Franqui joined the Fife and Drum Corps in 2016. He is a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and grew up in Orlando, Florida. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Music Education and Computer Science from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.

Staff Sergeant Franqui toured all over the U.S. and Japan with the Emmy Award-Winning Broadway Show, Blast! from 2001-2005. He later became a successful high school band director in the Orlando area, where his music ensembles earned the highest honors in Florida, the Southeastern United States, and the national stage. He was awarded the University of Central Florida’s “Rising Star” Award in 2012 for his accolades as a Florida Music Educator.

Staff Sergeant Franqui enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, as well as teaching clinics and private lessons in the Northern Virginia area.
